Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant which protects cells from damage and inflammation, which leads to many diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease. The human body is not able to produce vitamin C, which means that we must get the vitamin from our diet.
Research has shown that high vitamin C concentration in the blood is associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer and early death.
